Day 1

Delhi Exploration

Begin your Golden Triangle journey with a 9:00 AM pickup from your Delhi hotel. Explore Old Delhi starting with the magnificent Jama Masjid, India's largest mosque built by Shah Jahan in 1656 with three grand gates and two 40-meter-high minarets. Take an exhilarating rickshaw ride through the bustling lanes of Chandni Chowk, Delhi's oldest and most iconic market street dating back to the 17th century, brimming with aromatic spice shops, street food stalls, and traditional traders. Visit the imposing Red Fort (Lal Qila), the main residence of the Mughal emperors for nearly 200 years. After lunch featuring local Delhi cuisine, explore New Delhi's landmarks including Humayun's Tomb — the stunning Mughal garden tomb that inspired the Taj Mahal — the majestic India Gate war memorial, the grand Parliament House and Rashtrapati Bhavan (President's Palace), the towering Qutub Minar (the world's tallest brick minaret at 73 meters), and the serene Lotus Temple with its 27 stunning marble petals. In the evening, drive approximately 3 hours to Agra along the Yamuna Expressway. Check into your Agra hotel for overnight stay.

Agra to Jaipur via Mughal Heritage

Wake early for a breathtaking sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Your expert guide reveals the incredible love story behind this architectural masterpiece as you examine the stunning white Makrana marble facade, intricate pietra dura inlay work featuring 28 types of precious and semi-precious stones, the perfectly symmetrical Charbagh gardens, and the mesmerizing interior chambers with their delicate floral carvings and calligraphy. After breakfast, visit the magnificent Agra Fort, another UNESCO World Heritage site featuring grand palaces, ornate courtyards, the Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace), and poignant views of the Taj Mahal from the Musamman Burj. Optionally visit Fatehpur Sikri, the abandoned Mughal capital built by Emperor Akbar in 1571, featuring the stunning Buland Darwaza (the tallest gateway in the world at 54 meters), the Panch Mahal, and Jodha Bai's Palace. Enjoy lunch featuring authentic Mughlai cuisine. In the afternoon, drive 4-5 hours to the Pink City of Jaipur, the vibrant capital of Rajasthan. Check into your Jaipur hotel for overnight stay.

Visit the iconic Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) with its extraordinary facade of 953 intricately carved jharokha windows. Explore the City Palace, a magnificent blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture still partially occupied by the royal family. Visit the Jantar Mantar, a UNESCO World Heritage astronomical observatory featuring the world's largest stone sundial.
